NAEHCY is the leading advocacy organization dedicated to educational excellence for youth experiencing homelessness. Through state and federal policy and technical assistance to its members, students, and the public, NAEHCY changes systems so all children and youth can learn, succeed academically, and achieve their dreams.
NAEHCY helps Affiliates connect with school McKinney-Vento liaisons, advises on policy affecting homeless children, and provides opportunities for youth in our programs.
They are an Affiliate resource for:
• Questions about the law (compliance, policy, practice) regarding early childhood, pre-K and higher education;
• Assistance in connecting to local school districts and state departments of education;
• Reporting on challenges and successes with local policy implementation of federal laws and funding;
• Participation in NAEHCY provider surveys to inform advocacy and policy efforts.
