The Union County Program (FPUC) is overseen by the national Family Promise office.  It provides a holistic approach, through a comprehensive set of services, to families experiencing homelessness and families at-risk of homelessness in Union County, New Jersey.

The need for shelter and comprehensive support services in Union County remains great.  In the 2016 Point in Time count, Union County reported:

  • 328 households were experiencing homelessness, an increase of 23% from 2015;
  • 161 children under the age of 18 were homeless;
  • 58% of those children were under the age of 6.

FPUC focuses on providing shelter and support to homeless and at-risk families.  Since re-opening in 2013, FPUC has served nearly 500 families.  79% of the families who graduated from the program secured housing within, on average, eleven weeks.
