Family Promise was chosen from a distinguished list of nonprofits from across the country as a semi-finalist for the Encore Prize–$50,000 awarded for the best new idea for tapping Encore talent (volunteers over the age of 50) to improve the lives of young people who need champions and role models. Although we did not win the grand prize, Family Promise and Encore are exploring ways to work together to make our big idea–customizing our New Beginnings Financial Literacy Curriculum for use by the children of the families we serve–a reality.
