Case Management leadership academy

June 6, 2022

Each Leadership Academy curriculum will offer skill-based courses to ensure various roles such as Case Managers, Executive Directors, and Development Staff master the proficiencies necessary for success in a Family Promise Affiliate.

SUMMIT, NJ, JUNE 6, 2022Family Promise, the leading national nonprofit working to prevent and end family homelessness, today announced the launch of its in-house professional development programming called the Leadership Academy. The Family Promise Leadership Academy is a comprehensive, role-based curriculum that will be hosted on an online, on-demand, and user-friendly training platform for Affiliate staff and board members. This new programming will ensure that Affiliates are better equipped to provide the highest level of care and support to families served, which will allow Family Promise as a whole organization to support a greater number of families and multiply impact across the country.

“The Leadership Academy is a valuable way to help Affiliate staff build and hone skills,” says Family Promise CEO, Claas Ehlers. “Courses will enhance professional development resources and maximize training opportunities for Affiliates, regardless of staff size or level of experience.”

The first Leadership Academy course on Case Management began on June 6th. Funded in part through a partnership with educational child care franchise, Kiddie Academy®, this eight-module series offers training and education for Family Promise’s 250+ case managers working with children and families experiencing homelessness. In addition to offering staff professional development, the courses are an opportunity for licensed social workers to earn continuing education credits.

“It was our goal to create more opportunities for working women,” says Kiddie Academy Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, Maria Dontas. “We know that an overwhelming number of Family Promise’s case managers are women, so helping fund the Case Management Leadership Academy meant empowering the professionals that are supporting families in need. We are grateful to Family Promise for developing and refining the critical tools that ultimately lead to brighter futures for children.”

“We appreciate Kiddie Academy’s support of Family Promise – and ultimately, the families we serve – through this opportunity,” says Ehlers. “It’s partnerships like this that demonstrate the community-driven solutions to family homelessness that we’re known for, and which have proven so successful.”

Additional Leadership Academy modules are currently in development by Family Promise staff in collaboration with external experts and are expected to launch in the upcoming months.
