Family Promise Welcomes Two New Trustees, Elects New Officers

Family Promise, the leading national nonprofit helping homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence, is proud to announce the addition of two new members to their Board of Directors: Kevin Barrett and Eileen Serra.  Also announced at their January board meeting was the election of a new slate of officers for 2017:  Angela Schroeder, Chair; Cassandra Hardman, Vice Chair; Richard Vicens, Treasurer; and Neely Dodge, Secretary.

Kevin Barrett - CopyKevin Barrett is the President of Altegra Health, a Change Healthcare company, based in Weston, Florida.  “I’ve followed the work of Family Promise for several years and I’ve been impressed with the impact of their model nationwide,” said Barrett.  “They are run by a group of incredibly compassionate, committed and capable individuals determined to help reduce, and ultimately eliminate family homelessness in the US.  I’m excited to join the Family Promise Board of Directors, and I look forward to working with the organization to help them serve families experiencing homelessness everywhere, providing the assistance and support that they so desperately need.”

 

 

Eileen Serra, a resident of Summit, New Jersey, is a Senior Advisor at JP Morgan Chase,                 focusing  onEileen Serra   strategic growth initiatives, following her recent role as CEO for Chase Card Services.  She was attracted to the community-based approach of Family Promise.  “Family Promise successfully engages thousands of volunteers on a national level to provide shelter, food, guidance and companionship to families in need,” explained Serra.  “The ability to connect volunteers with a passion to give back with families in need on such a national scale is inspiring and also incredibly effective.  Family Promise is distinct in its mission and I am proud to be part of the organization.”   Eileen also serves on the Board of the Women’s Refugee Commission.
