Family Promise is an Interfaith Organization

Although a secular organization, Family Promise engages the faith community, through our 6,000 congregations of all denominations, to provide shelter, volunteers, and compassion to families in need.

Vounteers are the heart of our shelter program and many of these volunteers find us through the faith community. While Family Promise is a non-religious, non-denominational organization, our partners include 6,000 congregations.

Family Promise’s first program, our rotational shelter model, grew out of the idea that congregations often have unused space where families could be housed and volunteers could provide meals and support. As our programs have expanded, congregations still comprise a large portion of our volunteer base.

At Family Promise we engage all faiths, through a shared belief in hospitality, to ensure that every child has a safe place to sleep at night.
