Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced a final extension of the federal eviction moratorium. The eviction moratorium is now slated to end on July 31st. More than 6 million Americans are currently behind on rent and at risk of losing housing at the end of July.
Family Promise Affiliates across the country are currently working hard to keep families in housing and to provide shelter to those who find themselves experiencing homelessness. In recognition of these efforts, Charity Navigator, which rates nonprofit organizations and advises donors on best practices in giving, added Family Promise to its list of highly-rated nonprofits working on the issue of housing instability.
