Family Promise Announces New Board Member Lori Winkler

SUMMIT, NJ, AUGUST 25, 2022Family Promise, the leading national nonprofit working to prevent and end family homelessness, today announced the appointment of Lori Winkler to the organization’s board of trustees. 

“We are honored to welcome Lori to the established group of community leaders and professionals that make up our national board,” said Betsy Bernard, Family Promise board chair. “We look forward to channeling her talents and skills to assist Family Promise in setting its strategic direction and developing new initiatives that will ultimately lead us to serving more families, more effectively.” 

Winkler is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Zimmer Biomet, a Fortune 500 global medical technology leader with a comprehensive portfolio designed to maximize mobility and improve health. In her role, Winkler leads all facets of the Human Resources function, oversees a global employee population of ~17,000 spanning over 25 countries and 4 regions, and leads a global HR organization of 300+ employees. She is a member of the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors and is a Section 16 Officer of the organization.   

Under Winkler’s leadership, Zimmer Biomet was recognized by Forbes as a Best Place to Work for Diversity and helped the organization develop a structured DEI strategy that led to outstanding DEI scores on employee surveys. 

“I am very excited to be joining the board of trustees of Family Promise,” said Winkler. “I look forward to contributing to the organization’s initiatives to support families in need.” 

A passionate advocate for the arts, Winkler also serves on the Advisory Board of The Creative Coalition, a nonprofit, nonpartisan social and political advocacy organization in the entertainment industry. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Human and Organizational Development from Barry University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Florida Atlantic University, and an Executive Leadership Coaching Certification from Georgetown University.
