The southern department story chain continues to support the awareness and prevention of family homelessness through its partnership with Family Promise.
CHARLOTTE, NC, APRIL 25, 2022— Since 2018, nonprofit organization Family Promise’s partnership with southern department store chain, Belk, has worked to empower families experiencing homelessness. Belk today announced it has donated $100,000 to Family Promise Affiliates from a point-of-sale campaign. The $100,000 raised through in-store and online sales was distributed to 60 Family Promise Affiliates in their region.
Belk’s support of Family Promise doesn’t stop there. Earlier in the month, Belk held their Best of Belk Awards in Charlotte, NC. Attendees from within the Belk organization gathered to assemble Welcome Home kits containing essential household supplies for guests at Family Promise Affiliates. Kits were distributed to guests at Family Promise of York County (SC) and Family Promise of Gaston County (NC).
“We are grateful for how our associates and customers came together to help Family Promise,” said Belk CEO, Nir Patel. “For over 130 years, Belk’s commitment to our communities is always at the heart of what we do, and the work Family Promise does to provide for families experiencing homelessness is a cause we are proud to support.”
